Fresh Head is the fifth ‘chapter’ of forthcoming Indi and The Vegas’ album The Getaway, which depicts the twist and turns of a modern-day Romeo and Juliet love struggle.
This track sits dead centre of the project, in the calm before and after the storm, where the whirlwind romance has culminated in a blissful, lustful oasis of tranquillity before descending into the rollercoaster of a ‘real relationship’.
It’s a chilled, floaty experience, reminiscent of Afro Man and the old skool stoner beatmakers, and once again shows the band’s defiance of genre tropes. They are simply vessels for what may flow.
One of only 2 collaborations on the project, the song holds a special place for the band as it features good friends Zaro Vega and James 1stGen, who take turns expressing what this honeymoon period feels like for them.
Good vibes!
lyrics
How about, we go to bed
Wake up in the morning with some fresh head
Start again, I’ll bring it in
Imma be right here, Imma hold your hand
Silence is killer, I try to make you laugh and dance like thriller huh
Calling me, back to the sheets
To take my time, entertain, make you sorta feel like you are (are)
The only one (one)
There’s ever been (ever been)
Or will ever be (ever be)
And that’s possibly (possibly)
The truth for me
Let’s get the towel
Lay the fucker out
We ain’t joking now
You don’t mess about
What’s inside you want it out
I’m feeling things, like feelings, instincts and
She really fucking own it when you do
What you do
Oh you, hold you when you do
What you do
Say to me, baby
Oh baby, baby
Cause I
Love the way you do what you do
The way you do it
Got me yearning for you
And now I’m on the best
And I wake up wit my best friend
Serving me that fresh head
So how about we go to bed
Wake up in the morning with some fresh head
You need to chill, lay back and heal
Stimulate the root up to your crown
Give you a thrill
Wait wait, woo woop
Feeling you out on the moon
I'm lovin this night cause of you
Dill rice with the salmon for two, in a few
Get back in the living room
Master chef on Hulu
Shotgunnin’ gorilla glue
Potent OG marijuana
Eres la flama cuando tu me llamas
Pa la cama, hot like a sauna
When I take you down I cruise south and sail to wavy shores
Knowing I got 2 Clouds above debating so
Maybe take it slow
And let it flow
Fold you up make that body do yoga
(Shit)
Left the stove on the kitchen's gon' burn up
Should we stop this moment and go?
Fuck it let the block call the cops and don't quit
Flip make you drip Olympic and stay fit
Keep it a dolla (dolla)
I'm gonna stay the one you wanna fuck and call up
Cause I
Love the way you do what you do
The way you do it
Got me yearning for you
And now I’m on the best end
I wake up wit my best friend
Serving me that fresh Head
So how about we go to bed
I’ll break you off a little
So you sleep right in
Have you tappin’ and a screamin
Like we wrestlin’
I be the nature boy
The way I chop you in, yea
Ayyy shawty make it do what it do
Drop it don’t stop it this a moment for you
Take you on a ride do you know manual
Shawty you a queen way I treat you royal
You do the freaky things that let me know you loyal
I love the way
You drip and slip
Way you lick all on the tip
And have a nigga really bustin’ for you
So how about, we go to bed
Wake up in the morning with some fresh head
Are we dining in or dining out
Either way we start the day by getting up then going down
Set candles throughout halls
Shadows on the walls
Romance on the cards
The neighbours know what’s up
You like it like I do
(hey, can you guys keep it down)
I don’t need to tell you that I want to hear you scream for me
Ahhhh
Ahhhh
Ahhhh
How about, we go to bed
Wake up in the morning with some fresh head
Ahhhh
